Terms of Use

Last updated: August 6, 2026.

These terms govern use of Austin ADU Construction Guide. If you do not agree, do not use the site or submit information through it.

Educational information only

The site provides general educational and project-organization information. It does not provide legal, architectural, engineering, surveying, tax, lending, insurance, zoning or construction advice.

Rules, interpretations, costs and provider conditions change. Online content cannot determine approval or suitability for a property. Obtain current information from the governing authority and qualified professionals before making decisions.

Independent site

Austin ADU Construction Guide is not affiliated with or endorsed by the City of Austin, Round Rock, Cedar Park, Pflugerville, Georgetown, Williamson County or another government body unless expressly stated.

References to official sources are provided to help readers conduct due diligence. Government names and links do not imply sponsorship.

Enquiries and referrals

Submitting the project form does not create a contract, agency, professional-client relationship or duty to respond. It does not guarantee that the property allows another dwelling, that a provider is available or that a quoted outcome will be achieved.

An enquiry may be reviewed and, where relevant, introduced to an independent provider. A commercial relationship may exist in connection with a referral. The owner remains responsible for verifying the provider, scope, credentials, insurance, references, contract and advice.

Provider independence

Independent providers control their own communications, assessments, prices, contracts, work and data practices. The site does not employ them or guarantee their statements or performance.

Disputes about a provider’s services must be addressed under the agreement and law applicable to that provider and customer.

No guarantee of accuracy or availability

Reasonable efforts are made to write useful, source-aware content, but the site is provided on an “as available” basis. Information may be incomplete, outdated or inapplicable to a particular parcel.

Links and embedded services may change or become unavailable. No warranty is made that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free or suitable for a specific purpose.

Acceptable use

You may not misuse the site, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, submit unlawful or deceptive material, impersonate another person, scrape at a disruptive rate or use the form for spam.

You must have the right to submit any property or personal information you provide.

Intellectual property

Original site text, organization, graphics and branding are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. You may read and share links for personal project research. You may not reproduce substantial content, present it as your own, or use it to create a competing copied site without permission.

Government materials and third-party names remain the property of their respective owners.

Limitation of liability

Applicable law may limit available remedies. Within those legal limits, the operator accepts no responsibility for indirect, special, incidental or consequential loss connected with site use, content reliance, referrals, independent providers or service interruption.

Nothing in these terms excludes a right or liability that cannot legally be excluded. Where liability cannot be excluded but may be limited, it is limited to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to be responsible for claims arising from your unlawful misuse of the site, violation of these terms or submission of material you did not have the right to provide.

Changes and severability

These terms may be updated as the service changes. Continued use after publication of revised terms indicates acceptance of the revised version.

If a provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to the extent possible.

Contact

Use the project form for a terms-related enquiry. That channel is unsuitable for emergencies and does not accept formal notices that depend on a deadline.

Independent provider notice: Independent planning and referral website. It is not a builder, designer or government office. Any introduced provider is a separate business responsible for credentials, advice, permits, price, contract, work and follow-up.
